This is a basic TDP SQL functionality question. Is there a requirement to quiesce SQL databases that is not already taken care of when running backups with TDP SQL? I am using TDP 5.5 and MSSQL 2005.
Thanks Ed. That brings me to another question. Can database read/writes happen while it is being backed up with TDP for SQL? If so, will that complicate restores?

TDP for SQL takes a point-in-time snapshot. Thus it does not care if a write or read is done. This is called a point-in-time backup like backing up a the transaction logs which should be applied on the last full backup to restore the database in that point in time.
