Ping server not able to establish a connection on first try, following are successful

I'm having an issue with a LAN free configuration, here is a quick overview of the setup:
-Windows 2008 TSM 6.2 Server
-Oracle on Solaris LAN Free with Storage Agent

It worked fine for a few days, but it is not giving a severed connection every time i want to backup.

Validate LAN Free will give "Ping for server "sta" was not able to establish a connection" on the first attempt. Following attemps will give that it was successful.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you cycle the processes on the Sun server? How soon in the connection process are you receiving the Servered Connection?

Cycle the process as in restart the dsmsta? Yeah, I did that, as well as restart the TSM server...

How soon in the connection process does the error occur?

Make sure the ports are correct. Also turn off the TSM cad and scheduler on the client when you start the sta service.

Check routing and DNS.
Does a traceroute from the client show the same way/route as from the server?
try using ipadress in the config of the stg agent and the server (just for test)
