Hello
I have some problem and question that i want to have help whit.
I want to user offline media. Because of something happens whit the location that the TSM is standing on, I want to have a copy of all the media on a offline remote location.
When I calk to IBM support the told me that I shod use DRM
On me TSM server I have this storage pools
Archivepool
Backuppool
Diskpool
LTOpool1
I want to have a storage pools like LTOCOPYpool
That shod have a the information that all my storagepools have
Can I use this command yest to copy the information to the LTOCOPYPOOL
Ba stg archivepool ltocopypool
Ba stg backuppool ltocopypool
Ba stg diskpool ltocopypool
Ba stg ltopool1 ltocopypool
The next question is.
If this works like doing like that.
Id a new file is backup on the TSM system. Like say the file name is “hello.txt”
The file is first stored on the backuppool
And then nothing happens.
But 11:00 pm all the jobs starts to copy to ltocopypool and the file is also copy to ltocopypool
The next day the file is moved from the backupppol to the diskpool
And 11:00 pm all the jobs starts to copy to ltocopypool.
Now the file “hello.txt” already exist in the ltocopypool, but I was copy to pool ltocopypool when the file was a member in the backuppool, not the diskpool that the file exist in right now. Is the file copy agen to the ltocopypool? Or know Tsm that the file already exist in the ltocopypool ?
The next question is.
When the file “hello.txt” is moved to the ltocopypool I want it to stay ther.
What I mean is. If someone delete the file from the server. The file is deleted from tsm after 60 days. But I want the file to exist on the ltocopypool. All the media from ltocopypool while be storage on a offsite location for about 10-20 years.
And I want to be able in 6 years take one of the offsite ltotape and restore the file “hello.txt” even that the file have been deleted from the server for about 3 years ago.
Can I to that?
