NDMP-Restore question

Hi

I am trying to see if it is possible to restore from a TSM server (client of the library) a NDMP backup that was previously taken when this server used to be the library manager.

This server used to be the library manager, but this function has been relocated to another TSM server (we currently have 3 phycial TSM servers sharing one IBM 3584 Tape Library). I have a horrible feeling that i may have to migrate this functionality back inorder to restore the data....but just thought i would ask....nothing to lose!!!

You're correct, the lib mgr needs to work directly to the NAS since you can't define paths for the NAS on a lib client.

One option you may be able to use, but only if you know the tape vol the restore will need: Manually mount that tape in a drive and perform the restore directly on the NAS, specifying that specific drive. This will remove TSM from the picture altogether so lib mgr/client won't matter.
