Multiple Offsite Rentention

We would like to offer our customers 4 different offsite retention periods.



60 Day

90 Day

365 Day

7 Year



Currently we have everything set up for 7 year offsite using DRM. I have no clue how to go about setting this environment up. I just took over this a few months ago and was asked to look into this. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Basicaly you'll have to set up 4 different on-site storage pools with 4 corresponding offsite storage pools. Then set up the 4 management classes with the different retention periods. Then tie it all together with 4 archive/backup copy groups.

As long as your retention periods differ by machine, and not directory, it's not bad. If you want different retention periods by directory & file within each machine, that involves an additional step.
