Hi everyone,
I am wondering if moving some node's data from one devclass to another (actually moving the data between an old library to a new VTL) is possible without moving the node to a new policy domain that points to a relevant stgpool (that points to the VTL devcalss).
In other words, I need to move one node's data to the VTL as a onetime process, but want to continue backup this node to the old PD and (and the old library).

Thanks,
Avi

simply do it with move nodedata command and do not change the destination storage pool definition on the policy information of your node...

I assumed that would be the way but had to verify it before doing it
So as long as the node is a member of specific policy domain it will still backup its data to some destination even if all previous data has been moved?

And what are the consequences on the copypool?

what is the main reason to moving your node backups to vtl? if the answer is security or redundancy yes copypool is your solution. but if you just want to move your nodedata to another place for any reason do it with move nodedata... moving or copying is different...
