Migrating TSM 5.2 From Windows to AIX machine

Hi TSMers,



Currently we are running TSM server version 5.2 on a Windows 2000 server. We are planning to migrate it to AIX machine.



Can i perfrom the TSM database backup from Windows machine, and restore it to an AIX based TSM machine? Or i have to do an export server from Win2K and import to AIX machine?

Hi,

you have to export the server .. cross-platform db restore is impossible

Not impossible, just unsupported. And Wintel to AIX/RS6K probably IS impossible. (however linux to unix or unix to unix should be possible)
