Lotus Domino Backup

Hi:

We just did a TSM installation in our company. Everything is working fine except the compression ratio of the backup. I have a 40 - 80 GB. So far, when I can get 50 GB out of a tape, I am doing great! Most of my file compress the way they should. Where I have a problem is with my Domino server. There is basically no compression at all. Since most of the thing we are running are on the Domino server, we are usuing a lots of tape!

I was wondering if anybody went through this before? Is it normal not being able to compress Domino file?

Apologies for the late reply but Domino database files (.nsf) do NOT compress very well. Make sure you let the tape drive hardware do the compression rather than attempt this via the client. Hardware compression is always more efficient!!
