Firstly hello im new to this site !

Anyway my question is to do with how archiving works

ie. If i archive something off on the current version that im on i think its around 5 will i be able to restore it say 4 years down the line onto a different version or will it be useless data.

Also does anyone have any links hints tips etc to aid me in this ?

Im new to TSM and have been tasked with finding out everything i know about Archiving.

Currently we have a load of outstanding nodes that need to be archived then deleted, i need to back these up (archive them) and need to know that what i am archiving off will be recoverable in the future.

Many thanks in advance.

You could run into a problem with TSM 5.2. It can only restore from 82 years ago or newer. Anything backed up more than 82 years prior is gone. So in summary, if you are still working when you are 120 years old you might have an issue.
