Hi,

Anybody know if is it possible to change the image size in order to restore image on smaller disk ?
IBM says no but i know there are crazy boys on adsm.org !!

Code:
Image Size Stored Size FSType Backup Date Mgmt Class A/I Image Name
  ---------- ----------- ------ ------------------- ---------- --- ---------
 1 12,76 GB 5.88 GB NTFS 12/11/2008 15:11:14 DEFAULT A \\node\c$
 2 54,94 GB 1.94 GB NTFS 12/11/2008 15:24:21 DEFAULT A \\node\d$
Thanks

Nope. Unless you compress the image FIRST before doing an Image backup, but this is not what you want.

Use of VM

You "could" create a VM with a disk the correct size, then recover to that.

Then backup the VM using a file-level backup. then recover to your smaller disk.

But it is going around the houses a bit. You'd also need a dissimilar hardware restore product (like TBMR, not sure about Storix - does it do dissimilar restores?)
