I would just like to know what the main difference is between this two options. I know backup sets are a collection of a client's active backed up data, stored and managed as a single object, on specific media, in server storage. What is the difference with the Image backup. When reading it sounds very similar. Are they any pro & con's between the two. I also know that you can begin to restore the backup sets without an actual TSM server. Is all you need an external tape unit and the TSM archive-backup client installed the PC?
