ibm spectrum protect client web server

Hello all. I'm wondering if someone could explain the client web server that newer 8.1.x.x BA client installs have as an option. I may be under the mistaken impression that this replaces or is used instead of the old web gui. Is this the case of am I way off base?

That's exactly that. When server 8.1.2 was introduced with SSL authentication enabled all the time, the original web client no longer worked. That's the replacement to it.

Thanks Marclant. So my next question is: How do you configure it? I've installed the component but simply pasting the URL of the client into the browser doesn't work.

Thanks for this. I was able to configure and test this on a new Windows client. It certainly looks a lot different than the old web gui.
