I am having a problem with 4 new clients that were just installed, the dsm.opt, dsmsched.log and dsmerrors.log are all included below.

I have been unable to find anything related to this error on google, here, or anywhere else, so I am looking for ideas.

The scheduler has been stop/started/restarted multiple times on the client.

I get the same error if scheduled, force rerun, or manually kicked off. One note is, if I kick off the job by hand, I can get C to backup, but D, system services, and system state all fail even if I do them alone, all with the same error.

Any ideas welcome, thanks..

I am having the same issue with some of my clients. If you have a 2003 server, you might want to look at this HF from MS:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/833167

It's an update for the VSS service.

Try running the backups without doing a system state or system services. VSS fires off when those are backed up.

Good luck!
