HBAAPI vendor library failed to load or is missing!!! Pls Help..

Hi,We recently implemented TSM(V5.4) for one of our clients.The Library configured was IBM 4U Universal Tape library(33614LX) with 36slots and 2 drives.Drive1 is working fine and drive2 has got the probs.The drive path has gone offline.Refer below for the error.

1/25/08 1:10:09 AM GST ANR8848W Drive DRIVE2 of library LTOLIB is inaccessible; server has begun polling drive
1/25/08 1:20:42 AM GST ANR8471E Server no longer polling drive DRIVE2 in library LTOLIB - path mt2.0.0.1 will be marked off-line
1/25/08 1:20:42 AM GST ANR8873E The path from source HQSRVTSM to destination DRIVE2 (mt2.0.0.1) is taken offline

When I tried to make the drive path online.Got the following error.
1/26/08 11:03:14 AM GST ANR2017I Administrator ADMIN issued command: UPDATE PATH HQSRVTSM DRIVE2 SRCTYPE=SERVER DESTTYPE=DRIVE LIBRARY=LTOLIB DEVICE=mt2.0.0.1 ONLINE=YES AUTODETECT=NO

1/26/08 11:03:19 AM GST ANR1792W HBAAPI vendor library failed to load or is missing.
1/26/08 11:03:24 AM GST ANR1792W HBAAPI vendor library failed to load or is missing.
1/26/08 11:03:29 AM GST ANR1792W HBAAPI vendor library failed to load or is missing.
1/26/08 11:03:34 AM GST ANR8840E Unable to open device lb2.1.0.1 with error 2.

Any suggestions on what could be the reason for this error??
Need help immediately.
 
I too had this issue and placed a call to Tivoli Support. This was the reponse from the technician. I am betting you are using an EMULEX HBA? Basically Emulex has stopped providing the HBAAPI DLL Files in their driver. The link to this download is in the message from Tivoli Support.

[FONT=&quot]John here from the TSM support team. there's only two reasons for anr1792w I've seen, and theyre both listed in this techdoc.

If you're using the Emulex HBA, the company has made some changes. If it's the Microsoft version, we do not support it.

Please check the links in the following doc, and if you're question isn't answered, let me know what's changed and we can look into
it further. (In that case, please send the actlog for the 15 mins around the anr1792w warning)
