Hi all

we operate TSM servers with diskpools of 2 TB and 4 TB (on SAN). The volumes have sizes of 62 GB and 125 GB, the largest pools are ~ 1TB. One server uses FC drives, two use SATA drives
Would it be better for TSM to use less and bigger volumes? The speed we achive is varying widely, esp. on the SATA pooll. We are currently migrating 2 TB SATA to fiber.
It would be interesting to know how others set up their pools - disk type and volume size wise :)

Thanks all

Hi erwanns,
merci beaucoup! A lot of interesting stuff to read. After a short look at it I think I have to make the volumes bigger (... no more volumes in the VG than disks in the corresponding RAID group ... )
Currently we are moving a part of the pools from SATA to Fiber. Hope I will see some difference
