Failing restore om Virtual machine

Hello,



On the virtual machines we are using we've made a TSM backup of the machine when they are offline.



This are files from 10 to 40 Gb.



During backup is going ok. Succesfull backups.



When restoring the machines it gives sometimes an error:



ANR0480W Session session number for node node name (client platform) terminated - connection with client severed



there is no logic in the time when the error appears. Sometimes it's after XX Mb restore, sometimes at XX Gb... ... and so on



Has someone an idea.

This happens to us too - for no apparent reason at all - when trying to restore a VM Linux box -

What you have to do is just use the "restart restore" option and it will continue on.

thanks for the answer



that's a possibility but the problem with this is the restore restarts from de latest file. The files are 60 GB... is it occurs 4 times at the end of the restore... once at 50 Gb a time at 55 Gb...



any idea?

I would consider LAN-Free for this server since it has such large files to restore and the issues with the connection. Since LAN-Free only sends meta-data which is small the restore will more than likely not experience the problems encountered with LAN based restores.
