Exchange backups

Hi.

We currently run our Exchanges backups through 2 nodes. One node keeps the daily incr + once a week full and the other nodes is the "monthly" backups...

Couldn't i be running this on a single node? should i be? What do you guys do as far as Exchange backups? Incr + full once a week? With a monthly? No monthly?

Hi,
Yes you can use one node. Use the 'copy' backup, so it don't interfiere with your full+incr series.


Copy Backup (Legacy and VSS)A copy backup is similar to a full backup except that transaction log files are not deleted after the backup. A copy backup is used to make a full backup of the Exchange Server storage group without disrupting any backup procedures that use incremental or differential backups.

Thanks Rore. I got this running now in 3 different environments in test. Should be the way to go i think.
