This problem happends several times , but it is allways the same drive that gives the error. ( The tape one same SCSI as Library control.)

We have changed the drives but have the same result. The drives and all other hardware have been replaced by HP.

It is different tapes that gives this .

It is allways when Verifying label of LTO volume in Dismounting mode.

I have read here in this forum that there are other TSM Admins that have the same problem.

Any one who have an idea or solution to this problem.

What OS is this running under? I'm beginning to think the device definition for this device has changed and although the library knows about the drive, the OS doesn't, like the OS is expecting data from a drive that is not there anymore. Check to make sure the device info is correct.

Sorry I can't help anymore . . .

sERGE

After logging this as a case with Tivoli. they told me that there where som problems similar to this.

Insight Manager was the problem.

I stopped

"Compaq Storage Agents Service (CQMGSTOR.EXE and supporting DLLs)

This component runs as a software service

under Windows. The service collects

information from fibre channel, drive array,

SCSI, and IDE subsystems at periodic

intervals and makes the collected data

available to the Compaq SNMP agent. It also

provides SNMP alerts. Storage Agents

Service includes the following agents:

Drive Array Information Agent

SCSI Information Agent

IDE Information Agent

Fibre Array Information Agent"

After this the tapedrives have run for two days whithout errors.
