We've got a strage Problem which I'll try to tell by one example only.

We have SOURCE as a Config Manager and TARGET as its Configuration client. To have a correct replication configuration we need to have SOURCE as a managed Object on TARGET. Each server is set up correctly with servername, password, hladdress and lladdress. CROSSDEFINE is ON on TARGET (and on SOURCE, but this does not matter).

Now I define TARGET on SOURCE with the following:

DEFINE SERVER TARGET hladdress=<IP-adr> lladdress=1500 serverpassword=<password> crossdefine=yes

So far - so fine. There is now an object SOURCE on TARGET and it shows to be registered by $$CONFIG_MANAGER$$. But it has no managing profile. When I do a 'notify subscribers' on SOURCE it is replaced by the new configuration but there is still no managing profile. The first local write to this object with 'update server ...' transforms it into a local object.

Hmmm. I see three of our servers where they are managed objects. But how can I get there without a new install (not possible to do).

Any ideas? Who works with Enterprise configuration?

Bye R.
