Hi,

I am installing the second TSM instance on an AIX box after formating the log and db

it is not updating the dsmserv.dsk file

how can i create or update the dsmserv.dsk file.

or any documents please.

Is it installed on different folder and DSMSERV_DIR variable was set on machine?

Hi,

i set the environment variables export DSMSERV_DIR=/usr/tivoli/tsm/server/bin

and DSMSERV_CONFIG=/USR/TIVOLI/SECONDINST/DSMSERV.OPT

and followed the steps as in the admin doc.

and i am starting the server from =/usr/tivoli/tsm/server/bin

Hello Srin,

in my environment I added a new server "aux" as following:

a new directory /usr/tivoli/tsm/server/bin/aux

placed in it : dsmserv.opt.aux

updated it to point to "aux" directory for devconf and volhist

took a copy of "rc.adsmserv" script , created a new one - rc.adsmserv.aux

with updates to the new path:

i.e

export DSMSERV_CONFIG=/usr/tivoli/tsm/server/bin/aux/dsmserv.opt.aux

# Start the server in quiet mode.



print "$(date '+%D %T') Starting Tivoli Storage Manager Server"

cd /usr/tivoli/tsm/server/bin/aux

dsmserv quiet



I also copied all the lic files to the "aux"

The critical thing is to point to the new directory before you start the dsmserv!

to start I placed the entry into inittab:

tsmaux:2nce:/usr/tivoli/tsm/server/bin/aux/rc.adsmserv.aux >/dev/console 2&1
