Hi,

I am trying to restore the database backup took from another system to the another system. I have modified the dsm.sys file with host name to source system.

But when I am trying to dsmc it is asking for password.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

The first time a client connects to TSM, it will always ask for the password so that it can store it in the encrypted password file. You should enter the password for that node and then your restore will continue. If you don't know the password, you can change it on the TSM server but then you'll have to update each client that uses that node name.

FYI...

There is another way to avoid the prompting of password after changing the node name in dsm.sys file,

# dsmc q f (enter any password it will go to TSM and retrieve the correct password from TSM server) and

When I am done again, I perform the same process again.

Thanks!!!!!
