To All,

Here is something discovered that appears lacking in the creation of the DR plan:

When I do a ‘prepare’, it makes no mention of the database or log volume copies (mirrors);

I can understand that one might not want to create/sync these immediately upon restore, but it seems like they should at least be listed in the DB.VOLUMES and LOG.VOLUMES stanzas;
At the very least there should be information to the admin about creation and sync of the mirrors

Is there a resolution, or do you just have to document this externally?

What is your TSM Server version? If I am not mistaken, the mirror configuration DOES appear in the device configuration file which you do save.

I tried this on AIX running TSM Server 5.5.2.0 and Linux (TSM 5.5.0.0) and the mirror copies DID NOT show up... just as reported;

Here's the command showing I have a DB Copy and the stanza from the drm output file showing ONLY the first volume:

tsm: AIX2>q dbv

Volume Name Copy Volume Name Copy Volume Name Copy
(Copy 1) Status (Copy 2) Status (Copy 3) Status
---------------- ------ ---------------- ------ ---------------- ------
/dev/rtsmdb0a Sync'd /dev/rtsmdb0b Sync'd Undef-
ined

tsm: AIX2>

begin DB.VOLUMES

/dev/rtsmdb0a

end DB.VOLUMES
