I am in the process of upgrading 8 servers from 5.1.8 on win2k to 5.3.2 on SLES9. We do daily DRM tape swaps using a third party each day, requiring an email from me each morning to the diferent sites with which tapes in/out.

With 5.1.8 it was quite quick to lanch the server web console, do a q drm to see what is mountable and what is vault retrieve to get the details for the morning emails.

Now with 5.3.2 using ISC it takes me the same time to do 1 email than to do the 8 with 5.1.8. This is due to the speed of the remote links and the response times of ISC.

Is there a 3rd party application or any other way to help speed up my morning DRM routine? I had a look at TSM manager but it looks like it only supports windows platforms, not x86 linux.

You can use the command line admin interface (dsmadmc) Its just as fast (if not faster) than the old web interface and if you got really bored, you could script it all to automated it (for those times you want to go on vacation)

dsmadmc -id={user} -password={password} q drmedia wherestate=mountable
