defining a VTL library

We have a VTL library that we are looking at to replace our 2 physical libraries, I need some guidance of how to connect it to TSM sever and define it then moving storage pools

TSM treats a VTL just like a real library. There is no difference to TSM.

We have physical IBM3584 libs and about 10 virtual IBM3584s. We gave the virtual libraries many more drives, Defined volumes at 50GB without capacity on demand, and still use a 500GB diskpool before the CDL.

Because we still have physical libraries we try to send clients with large files to physical tape and many small files to VTL. Exampel SQL backups and exchange DBs go to physical tape. File, web, and app servers end up on the VTL or SATA.

Are you using Windows or AIX for TSM Server?
