Hi Folks,

which is the best solution for backing up a DB2 database ? TSM Baclient or the TDP agent?

Regards,
Hema

TDP - actually, for DB2 you just need to install BA client that will deliver TSM API to your system, and other parts of TDP for DB2 is already embedded in DB2

okay...Thanks for ur reply dude.

Issue,i'm facing is,the db2 archive schedule which is taking 2-3 days to complete the backup, meanwhile making the next schedules to fail...I'm trying to find a work around on this.

Any suggestions from you?

What is the "db2 archive schedule"? Can you explain a bit what lasts 2 - 3 days? (eg. I am backuping db2 of gazzilion TB with compression to sata disk while thousand of transactions are ongoing, then sending dump to tsm.... something like this)

Oops..That was a daily incremental backup,i checked & confirmed it now..I have no idea on the transaction stuffs.Have raised request with db2 team, will cum back to u with more details.
