The client is hang and when I query the related session from the server, the wait time is unexpectedly long:

Sess Comm. Sess Wait Bytes Bytes Sess Platform
Number Method State Time Sent Recvd Type
------ ------ ------ ------ ------- ------- ----- --------
11,246 Tcp/Ip Run 0 S 3.5 K 2.5 K Node WinNT
11,248 Tcp/Ip RecvW 56.2 M 380 10.2 G Node WinNT

Please help! The same client has been installed in another Win2003 server and works fine.

What does the node's error log say?

Try restarting the TSM services on the node, look for network issues (I have seen faulty NICs or bad configuration), etc.

No error log found. I have tried restarted the service and still the same.

The network card seems working properly. I try to copy a large file to anther server successfully. No missing packet when ping.

Is this problem related to network configuration?

Does initiating a manual backup finish successfully?

CommTimeout = 3600 and IdleTimeout=30

Sometime the backup is ok, sometime hangs. It seems that there is no connection between the client and the server when it hangs.

Finally solved the problem. It is because the network card driver is not up to date.
