backup db command is not working on 6.1 version
hi
recently i have upgrdaed the tivoli 5.5 to 6.1.2 mine all backups are working fine but when i goes to run command "backup db type=full dev=ltoclass" its give me error and not able to backing up the database so due to that mine /archivelog directory it going to full and TSM goes down.

so help me its urgent as mine server is live and in production

as i run command "backup db type=full dev=ltoclass" i note
the tsm error is = ANR2968E Database backup terminated. DB2 sqlcode: -2033.DB2 sqlerrmc: 610.
the OS message show = dsmadmc: ANS1520E Failure writing to the Tivoli Storage Manager error log: errno = 13, Permission denied
please guide me whats should i do ..its going to halt me:mad:

Hi Nadeem,

Can you plz tell me from which user you are trying to take db backup.

Please provide the log file for same.

i tried with all users created instance ...root ....admin
all one showing same error

I want the log when you start the DB backup.
Do one thing again start the DB backup and send the Log.


One more thing have you ever taken db backup earlier.

one more thing... before you start the db backup you need to give below command on tsm admin console.

set dbrecovery LTO_CLASS
 
yes i did backup before start the upgrading its there in Tape

set dbrecovery LTO_CLASS

but i m new to TSM admin so as i m running this command on TSM consloe
tsm: TSM_SERVER1> DBMTRUSTEDIPADDR 127.0.0.1
its saying UNKnown Command
so please guide me which exactly command and where (on tsm comsole or linux prompt )should i run
 
"DBMTRUSTEDIPADDR" is not a command but an option as indicated on the webpage. You need to add that option to teh "dsmserv.opt" and recycle the TSM server to activate that option.

Hi Everybody.
sqlerrmc 610 means API has a problem with opening a message catalog. I experienced this problem when I installed TSM client on the same machine as server. It upgraded API. The API which comes with the client fails to set the link /opt/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin64/EN_US pointing to ../../lang/EN_US

After I set this link manually and checked all the steps with dsmapipw and DSM_* envronment (I did manual, not dsmicfgx instance setup) it started working again.
