Hi,

it depends on how you performm the audit. The command 'audit vol <volume>' will only report the damaged files. The command 'audit vol <volume> fix=yes' will not only report the damaged files but will also perform certain actions on these files. Check with the command 'help audit vol' to find out what these actions here.

I also believe the command 'select * from volumes' is not the best way to check if any actions was performed by the audit. The information received with this command is to general.

Regards.

Hi,

Could you guys provide a clue as to how to determine which physical tapes make up a virtual volume ?

I have a circumstance often where Auditing of a virtual volume fails, or indicates files are damaged, when in actual fact the real problem is that some of the required tapes are simply not in the silo, and therefore not accessable to the Audit process.

Upon reviewing the activity log after the Audit, it is clear which tape was missing, however I would like to ensure all required tapes are in the silo prior to commencing the Audit.

I suspect some SQL query will produce the information ?

Thanks,

Tony
