Hi,

got a problem with the TSM Server. If I try to backup something I get this message above.

But a "q stg" say´s me, that are only 94% of my backup pool are full. And these 6% free are about 160GB. So free space should not be a problem.

A few days ago we got a power loss. Maybe thats something to do with.

The TSM Server is V 5.4.0 and running on a Win2k3 system.

Is this storage pool disk or tape?

If tape, check your 'Maximum Scratch Volumes Allowed' and 'Number of Scratch Volumes Used' incase you've hit the max.

If disk, check that all the diskpool volumes are online.

Could you post the output of q stg f=d for this pool?

This is a disc storage pool.

All volumes are online.

had you check server actlog for some messages ?

Is the file you're trying to back up greater than 160GB? Probably not, but just wondering. You've also got no 'Next storage pool' so theres nowhere for this pool to migrate to.

As picay said, check the actlog messages from when you were trying to backup to the pool and post them here.

This error also occurs when I try to Backup only one selected folder from a server with only about 7GB.

The ActLog:

can you do a q vol stg=diskpool and compare reported pct util with q stg ?

As follow up to Picay's last post, also look for volumes that are offline. If any are, you can try to bring them back only with:

vary online [volume name]

Are all of your diskpool volumes read-write access? Also you may want to think about running an 'audit vol' over the diskpool volumes to make sure there aren't any discrepancies in what TSM thinks it has.

I checked a few volumes. 10 of 50 volumes and was wondering.

All the 10 Volumes are "Read-Only". How could this happen and how can I set it to write access back?

As you said, you faced a power loss and...

upd vol <volume_name> access=readw

ie:
upd vol /tsmdata/server/stg/daily/stg101.dsm access=readw

Check the actlog from when your power outage happened (as in, start from when the server came back up) and there *should* be errors about those volumes, and TSM setting them read-only.

try upd vol * stg=yourstg acc=readw

Ok, I´ve updated the volumes and backed up successfully some files from one Server.

So I´m looking hopefully to tomorrow, that the backup will work.

All of you, thanks a lot for your help.
I´m really happy now :)
