ANS4973E An error occurred accessing NTFS security

Hello,

We get ANS4973E An error occurred accessing NTFS security information for file errors on incremental of our file servers. I was told to use SkipNTSecurity option in the dsm.opt file. I think that is not a good solution because i think all the changes in security are not backupped in that case.
Does anybody now another solution?

for sure, I'll never do that
skipping the NTFS info could be very dangerous when restoring

witch version of client & server to you have
and the OS should be Win2003, Sp1?

it's a Windows2003 servicepack2

The client is a 5.3.2.0 and the TSM server is a 5.3.1.3

but at this moment i am not sure my backup is ok.

the error is every day the same one.

Is this a scheduled backup? Who is the sched service running as (when you configured it)? If you configure it to run as sys adm this should go away.

it's running with the system account.

there is an apart oopen for that issue,

in fact the error message is no good,
the normal message should be "acced denied" or "file in use"
Microsoft recommend to exclude these file,
to get the proper message you got to upgrade to 5.3.5 client version
