ANS1977E on multiple clients

Hello,

I'm getting the following message on multiple TSM Clients running on Windows:

Error starting schedule service: CheckStartDIAgentService: Win32 RC=1058

ANS1977E Dsmcad schedule invocation was unsuccessful - will try again in 10 minutes.

This first happened about a week ago.

I already tried the solutions in the following threads:

but that didn't help.

Has anybody here another idea what to do in this case?

The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.
Sounds like the Scheduler service is disabled, or installed incorrectly.

thank you for the tip. I tried to reinstall the service. I even reinstalled the whole client, but it didn't help. I still get the same error message on the clients.
 
Did you reconfigure the service? (from the wizard in the B/A Client)
 
Whenever I get this error message I always have to remove all the scheduler services and CAD using the dsmcutil command. Using the GUI to remove and add never fixes it.
Try the dsmcutil command to remove them and then add them with the GUI.

After doing Kyle2024's suggestion do:

dsmcutil update cad /name:"you cad name" /cadschedname:"your tsm scheduler"

Hi together;

i got nearly the same error, just solved it by removing the Servies in Commandline and recreate them wirth commandline tool.

But strange thing is:
I also get this message "The service 'TSM' (*) does not exist" - that is right, we do not have such a service - and have never installed.
(*) notting else like 'TSM', not 'TSM Scheduler', ... or similar

Is this problem solved wit a fix from IBM?

Hi;

i found out, that these Services 'TSM' were only reg-Keys with no effect, exapt creating an Errot Message, therefore i saved the Keys and deleted them.
-> Problem solved, Backup runs as wished, Errormessage gone.
