Greetings,

We are running Windows 2k3 and version 5.2.2.5 and we had a drive fail on the raid array that cause the DB1.DSM data to go offline (corruption). We are awaiting the replacement part for the failed drive. Currently I am running a check disk on the current file structure. I have a copy of the VOLHIST.OUT and the DEVCNFG.OUT and the DSMSERV.OPT.

My question how can I get the system back online? Should I delete the array and re-install the TSM server over the top? Or wait for the check disk for finish and try to restore from backup?

Do I need to rebuild the server to bring it back online? I was able to duplicate the error on a test box but I am wondering what would be the quickest way to get the server online?

Thanks,

John

I was able to resolve the issue. From the command prompt in W2K3 I formated the existing log files and database files using the dsmerv format command. From that point I was able to dsmserv restore db.
