6.2 memory requirements

I need to install a temporary 6.2 server on a P595 lpar while we plan the upgrade of our 5.4 production system. This will only be used as a library manager and to backup a single exchange 2010 system providing mail for approx 1500 users.

The 6.2 installation manual specifies the memory requirement as 12GB but this would be for a full-blown production server. Does anyone know how much (or rather how little) memory I can get away with for my temporary server.

I have a similar setup, running on AIX 6. TSM 6.2.2 with 6gb of ram and 10gb of paging for one server and the other with 8gb of ram. We are in the process of migrating from a single TSM server (5.5) onto 2 TSM6 servers in different location. Each servers has about 30 clients so far. Running ok but not great. I have a PMR opened with IBM. Servers are locking up once in a while during massive IOs...
