Hi All,

I am restoring a 2003 Server (Windows) that runs on a Virtual Machine on an IBM Blade centre. I have the new server installed and am connected to TSM and have begun a restore.

2 Question
----------

1. why cant I see the files as they are being restored.
I have looked in the dirs and they are empty.

Setup is correct and the IP address and all is pointing to the correct machine , fromnode etc is set.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance
Adrian

Do you use the client gui or dsmc ?
What is your syntax?

Check on the TSM server side, and look at the 'Bytes Sent' number of the restore session. It will give you some clue

thanks to all for the replies.
I found the error. I left out the destination for the restore as it is to another node masquerading as my backed up node.

syntax is

dsmc restore \\XXXXXXX\c$\ c: -sub=yes -rep=all

This works. although Windows is terribly slow.
