Activity Log - Long term archive

I'm looking for a way to send my activity log data to another destination while maintaining regular operations in TSM. So I want to keep my activity log retention of x days buy keep y days in whatever my destination will be.

ie. TSM --> DB2 --> ACTLOG Table --> Elasticsearch (using jdbc river)

Anybody doing something similar? What methods/products are you using?

If needed, I just dump the actlog to a file and save it on another 'storage' or disk space.

I do the same as moon-buddy. Quarterly I dump it out for a number of customers and I always have a reference point for them. It takes up so little space (except when the use a VTL).

I am looking at setting up a dedicated TSM event server. It will hold activity log forever for all TSM servers, and only be used for this. Dumping it out is a little dodgy as it can be manipulated. There is lots of info on TSM event loggin in IBM knowledge centre. You can use SNMP, TEC, file/user exit, dedicated server etc. This way auditors prefer.
