I have a 48 tape library, 9 tapes out of those 48 tapes have no more then 2 read and/or 2 write errors. The rest of the tapes are clean with zero erros.

For those 9 tapes with 1 or 2 errors when should I be concerned? Is there a threshold I should look for? I am not sure how many read/write errors are acceptable.

Thanks

Do an audit of the tapes with fix=yes. If this does not fix the errors, or TSM reports more errors, throw the tapes out. Recover the tapes by marking them destroyed. See 'help restore volume' if the tape belongs to the primary pool.
