I have worked in 3 large Enterprise environments in 2007.
1 Fortune 100 (contractor), 1 Government (contractor), 1 private industry
(current employed).
All 3 have multiple master/media sets. All are doing over 10TB's per night.
All have more than 400 unique clients. Oracle agents, sql agents, unix,
windows, linux, netware. Broad spectrum of client hardware/software.
At the F-100 and Gov location, if the daily % rate went below 97% on any
given master, people were asking questions.
All 3 environments average 98%+ every day.
Ask yourself if you became a smoking hole in the ground, how many backups do
you not need.
