Apparently in NBU 6 it will, however anything below it wont .

Here is what I do, always seems to work for me.

Expire the image, where A00003 is the volume name.
/bpexpdate -ev A00003 -d 0

I then go into the GUI and delete the images, I do this because I am not
sure how to do that part command line.
