The first thing that you need to know is that a SAN media server is license=
d=20
to only back itself up. SSO is a complete seperate issue. If you intend on=
=20
using a MEDIA server with the SSO option, then that is another completely=
=20
different option, but all need to be licensed correctly. You can use the SA=
N=20
media server or a regular MEDIA server with SSO, but again, all need to be=
=20
properly licensed.
Usually, the SAN media server is for designated applications, such as an=20
Oracle server, Exchange server, or something similar. You can also cut BCV'=
s=20
to this server and back it up with the SAN media Server.=20
With a MEDIA server, you can backup clients, other media servers, itself=20
etc.=20
I am not sure if this adds to your frustration, or helps with your problem,=
=20
but thats what the difference in the SAN media server and the MEDIA server=
=20
is.
