You have to fudge it a bit with an undocumented option. You can then eject
tapes one at a time, unattended, and loop to do more than one.
vmchange -rn <robnum> -res -m <tapenum> -mt <tapetype> -e -sec 1
I would also suggest following up with...
vmchange -new_v <NewVolGrp> -m <tapenum>

Subject: [Veritas-bu] vmchange multi-eject - how to script
Hi there,
I'd like to run a script via a cron job to eject some tapes from our
StorageTek L180.
The idea of the script is that an operator will be emailed/paged that the
overnight
backups are ready to be removed from the CAP.
The vmchange command to eject the tapes is:
vmchange -res -multi_eject -w -verbose -rn 0 -rt tld -rh gla1bs01 -ml $MLIST
This command asks you to empty the CAP and then press return to continue.
Not sure how I can handle this in a script.
If I pass a return as input to the command then the tapes will be loaded
back
into the L180 !!!
Is there another way to automate this ?
Many thanks.
