Try the command this was way :
    vmoprcmd -h <media_server> -devconfig "-delete -drive -index <driveinde=
xnum>"

The -devconfig option passes the next parameter to tpconfig.  If the next p=
arameter is -d this works great, but you want to pass several parameters to=
 tpconfig.  Using quotes solves that problem.

I ran into this issue about two weeks ago and tried it.  It works.
