Doesn't work that way. One target will write to one tape drive. To have
the d: drive occupy two tapes you'd have to split the d: drive into two
targets and have a separate backup stream for each target; i.e. in the
file list section of the policy, one file would be:
d:\data
then another file would be
d:\users
or something like that.
One alternative, that they won't like, tell them to split the drives
into smaller chunks, so that instead of d: e: f:, you have d:, e:, f:,
g:, h:, i:. That way you'll get more drives used for the same amount of
data. (I like to put it back on the other guy.).
Good luck, I usually think that the best you can do is confuse them
enough so they'll leave you alone.

Okay this is directed to you windows folks...

I have been handed the project of backing up the LAN.

My env is NBU 4.5 M4 Solaris 8 to a L700 Lib...

I can do the backups and they work. The LAN group has informed me that
they
want the files/servers to be able to write to multiple tapes at the
same
time....

Example:

Server A: & B: Win2k

files are D:\ and F:\ as well as E:\

I set up the multi streams but it is only writing to one drive..

The LAN group want it to run so that D:\ get 2 drives and so on...

Please help because I do not do Windows...

Thanks...

Travis
