I recently upgrade my site to NetBackup DataCenter 4.5, and am aware
that with version 4.5, there is now a "Remote NDMP" feature available.
(I have two NetApp filers, and the prerequisite Sun media server.)

I plan on replacing my my pair of F700 filers, with a single FAS940, and
am considering using  "Remote NDMP".  My F760's have SCSI attached
drives within a DLT tape library shared/controlled by a Solaris based
media server.

Since the NetApp FAS900 series lack a SCSI interface, I would have to
purchase their SCSI host adapter, (and LVD to HVD converters) to
attached the new filer with my current DLT drives.

I'm wondering how many other are using this feature, and how well it is
behaving.

Note: On the network side, the Solaris media server, and NetApp filer
are attached via Gigabit over fibre, to the same blade in a Cisco
Catalyst 6000 etherswitch.  Network traffic is typically like during
backup hours. (midnight to 6am)
