bp.conf on master and media server:

SERVER = <hostname of master server>
SERVER = <hostname of media server>
ALLOW_MEDIA_OVERWRITE = DBR
ALLOW_MEDIA_OVERWRITE = TAR
ALLOW_MEDIA_OVERWRITE = CPIO
ALLOW_MEDIA_OVERWRITE = ANSI
ALLOW_MEDIA_OVERWRITE = AOS/VS
ALLOW_MEDIA_OVERWRITE = MTF1
ALLOW_MEDIA_OVERWRITE = RS-MTF1
ALLOW_MEDIA_OVERWRITE = BE-MTF1
VERBOSE
CLIENT_CONNECT_TIMEOUT = 3600
CLIENT_READ_TIMEOUT = 7200
USEMAIL = kfhemness AT ucdavis DOT edu
BPSTART_TIMEOUT = 4800
MEDIA_UNMOUNT_DELAY = 600
CLIENT_NAME = <hostname of master or media server>

/usr/openv/volmgr/vm.conf on BOTH master and media servers
Veritas tech support told me that I didn't need all 3 DEVICE_HOST,
KNOWN, and SERVER specifications, but I found that I did.

DEVICE_HOST = <hostname of master server>
DEVICE_HOST = <hostname of media server>
SCRATCH_POOL = SCRATCH
KNOWN = <hostname of media server>
KNOWN = <hostname of master server>
SERVER = <hostname of master server>
SERVER = <hostname of media server>
