On your old media server that previously had the robot, can you still run
vmquery against the EVSNs? I agree it looks exactly like you had a separate
volDB on that other server, as that's the information you're missing. If
you can still run the vmquery commands, you can add the tapes to the
master's volDB with a combination of vmadd and vmquery -assignbyid.
Specifically, you'll need the pool and assignment date. I would definitely
delete the tapes out of the volDB on the master now that they're there with
assignment dates before anything happens to them. No good can come of them
while they are still listed in NetBackup/Media Manager in this situation,
and you're setting yourself up for a mistake that will lose data.

I agree with Larry. Open a support call right away.

Thanks,

Sounds like your media server had the volume database host configured
to be something other than the master server (to be technically
correct, that the media server and master use different volume
database hosts). If so, when you did the inventory the tapes were
added as new media.

If the 'time assigned' field is missing, you're missing something
very, very important.

No, but you need to straighten out the media manager config.

You did that with the -movedb. It's the volDB config which is
probably in need of fixing.

I would highly recommend that you shutdown NetBackup and open a
support call immediately. If I'm correct, you need to straighten out
the media manager config before you run anything else. Since there's
some things we don't know about your config (e.g. are there any other
libraries), I really can't advise you on how to do so.
