        Having recently been through this exercise, with the help of Veritas,
there's one
more item I'd add to David's list, namely:

        Make sure you can "recognise" new media (e.g. by inserting a new tape
and doing
a robot inventory).  This will test that the volume pools / groups and
barcode rules etc have "survived the trip".
