At my last job we ran the 3.2 WinNT client on a test box just to see what
would happen. It worked but was running about 1/10th the speed of the other
WinNT 4.0 servers. We didn't even try to do and Active Directory restores
but regular files worked if somewhat slow.

 no. the NB3.2 compatiblity list is available in the support

 yes. you could try to install the 3.4 client to backup to a 3.2
server, but it's totally unsupported.
