Re: [Networker] NDMP Celerra How To

You don't need to install the NDMP module, if you have spare drives you can
connect them to the celerra via either scsi/fiber. Otherwise you back it up
across the network.
These are the important settings:
remote user: ndmp;
password: ****************;
backup command: nsrndmp_save -M -T dump;
application information: HIST=y, UPDATE=y, DIRECT=y, OPTIONS=NT;
you must have an account setup for backups on it and you put that into the
remote user field on the client.
I would recommend some type of volume structure so you can back the data up in
parallel and get it done faster.
Feel free to ask more questions if you need help.

Subject: [Networker] NDMP Celerra How To
We just got a Celerra at our location and are needing to do backups for some
tests, however I haven't the slightest idea on how to set it up yet.
I've ran through the documentation and have concluded that we will be doing the
3-Way Backup sending all the data through our network.
My biggest thing is, where do I install the module for NDMP, and how really?
We don't have a separate tape library dedicated to the Celerra so it is shared
among the rest of our backups.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
