I'm confused about something. I have a directive that says
<< "X:\"
+skip: .
("X:" being a Networker AFTD drive, on a Win2003 storage node
running NW 7.5.2)
I thought that directive would skip trying to backup anything on
that drive at all, just not access it at all. Instead, I am seeing
* admnlts003:X:\ 7281:save: VSS snapshot failed with error
0x80042301 -- VSS Backup or Restore is not in the correct state for
the operation, or the writer is not in the correct state..
* admnlts003:X:\ 7284:save: Networker will save the files without
the snapshot.
admnlts003: X:\ level=full, 0 KB 00:00:03 0
files
And I don't understand why Networker is trying to access the drive
at all, much less why the VSS error is coming up. If Networker was
not trying to backup the drive, it wouldn't have initiated VSS at
all (if I am understanding how VSS works, in conjunction with
Networker). Why is Networker trying to save any files at all, with
or without a snapshot?
So I seem to be confused somewhere, but I can't tell where. Can
anyone shed some light?
Thanks
