All,
As you know, using File/Advanced File device, networker stores
saveset data in a plain file under a directory structure.
I finally tracked down networker (7.5.3.1.Build.533 on W2008R2 64bits
+ savegrp hotfix in my case), to not always close properly the
nsrmmd's file handle it opened to store session in the FD/AFD
directory structure data when that backup session does timeout on
inactivity.
In this sample, file J:\AFD_SATA_DISK02\78\90\19c07c30-.......
remains lock-opened by nsrmmd controlling AFD device called
"J:\AFD_SATA_DISK02"
and is not removed from File device as a normal failed
FD/AFD device-based session does.
It is also prevented to be purged by staging operation (nsrstage in its
purging space stage), maintain useless FD/AFD device disk-space
and generates AFD Device Event such this one at each nsr stage operation :
NetWorker adv_file: (warning) Cannot remove saveset file
J:\AFD_SATA_DISK02\78\
90\19c07c30-00000006-766c6217-4d6c6217-8f8c1fe4-cc462f13 on
device `J:\AFD_SATA_DISK02': Access is denied.
My corrective workaround is manually killing nsrmmd process
(if not busy writing) or simply closing manually file handler
(using process explorer for sample).
Did anyone also experience this error/behavior ?
Smell bug, isn't ?
Cheers
Thierry
